10 Perfect Rock Singles On Bad Albums

1. Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus: Wheatus (2000)

It's still a mystery, was lead singer Brendan B. Brown dressing like this ironically or did he think it was fly? Who even cares, it's cool now. Get me a velour tracksuit, some wrap around shades and a bucket hat, it's time to bring this look back.

Teenage Dirtbag was the definitive one hit wonder track. If you can name any other song by Wheatus then you deserve some kind of acknowledgment. These guys rode the wave of their debut single to an insane degree of glory, and who can begrudge them for it?

This was the soundtrack to your awkward adolescence whether you were growing up in the 2000s or not. It has all the elements required for a hit. There's some noughties record scratching; an acoustic guitar riff that's instantly identifiable; lyrics that are universally relatable; and a chorus that everyone can join in with. Think about it, have you ever been in a situation when this song is playing, without everybody in the room belting the chorus at the top of their lungs?

Wheatus deserves Rock and Roll Hall of Fame status for this alone.
