10 Perfect Trip-Hop Albums With No Bad Songs

4. In A Space Outta Sound - Nightmares On Wax (2006)

English DJ George Evelyn, is the main creative force behind Nightmares On Wax. His second studio album, Smokers Delight (1995), is one of his most widely praised endeavours, and is an essential listen for any trip-hop enthusiasts. It's exactly what it says on the tin; a collection of downtempo numbers, perfect for kicking back to...

But his fifth studio album, although not as widely praised, is every bit as enjoyable. This album suits a particular mood. It's unassuming enough, that it's perfect to simmer away in the background, slowly imbuing a room with a warm ambience. The opening track, Passion, is one of the longer cuts on the record, coming in at seven minutes. It takes a long time to get anywhere, but that's just fine, this isn't music for running to.

You've also got, You Wish. In typical trip-hop fashion it instantly sets a mood. Again, it lends itself, to doing nothing at all, just sit back and enjoy the vibe, the smooth bass, and the excellent sampling. This isn't the most experimental, go-get-em record Nightmares On Wax has ever produced, but it is one of his most laid back. You wont regret sticking this on, at the end of a hard day.
