8. Kaki King
If you don't already know Kaki King then prepare yourself for some finger-tapping, experimental joy. Whilst her latest albums carry more of a standard rock vibe, her debut album Everybody Loves You incorporated a lot of percussive elements, as well as experimenting with various tunings and traditional Russian guitar. The result was a tour de force of guitar art which was both weird and wonderful thanks to King's unique style. Her third album ...Until We Felt Red explored a much more mainstream sound, incorporating more vocals and electric guitar for a less frantic shoegazing style. It was then that King really hit a mainstream audience, with Dave Grohl inviting her on tour with the Foo Fighters.
