5. The Who
The adventures of the eternally cross Mr Daltrey and Internet Policeman Mr Townshend have always been set to fantastic music-Pinball Wizard is one of the best songs of all time and much of The Whos output until the demise of Keith Moon was exceptional. What puts me off actually liking the band is the inherent reason that most hard-core fans love them so - the complex but undeniable machismo and detestability of the inter-band dynamics; all of the Hur hur, we really hate each other and I knocked him out on stage once guff is unseemly for a band of Oasis stature, never mind one of towering cultural significance such as The Mod Squad. Give over, Grandpa.
