Few artists in any genre have achieved comparable commercial or critical success to Marshall Mathers III, the individual known to the greater masses as Eminem. Reportedly Eminem has sold over 230 million albums worldwide, which makes him one of the best-selling artists of all-time; he is, at the very least, the best-selling music artists within the United States in the 2000s. He has 15 Grammy Awards to his credit, beyond his nine number-one Billboard 200 albums and a very distinctive Academy Award.

Odds are that you think of Eminem as a Detroit-based artist, given his association with D12, the fact that 8 Mile took place there and so forth. However, Eminem was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, which is around 30 miles north of Kansas City. His childhood included time spent living in Kansas City. Publicly-available records show that Eminem did not become a permanent fixture of Michigan until he was 11 years old.
