10 Popular Performers That Prove Modern Pop Isn't All Bad

9. MGMT

Page 2 MGMT are an awesome little psychedelic pop-rock duo. These two Americans have given us some very fun, very unusual pop songs over the past decade. They first got audience attention with their massive debut album Oracular Spectacular. The excellently dark but catchy songs made for a riveting listen. The first single Time to Pretend points out the cyclic and ultimately pointless nature of celebrities while Kids and Electric Feel rouse us up with unforgettable synth melodies. Their second album Congratulations was released in 2010 and the band impressed me by initially refusing to release singles. They€™re reasoning being that the album was meant to be listened to as one whole not in pieces. Although the record company shook some singles out of them eventually, it€™s hard not to be moved by their dedication to the music. They are currently preparing a new album for release now and I€™m very much looking forward to hearing it.
