"Pinball Wizard" is the story of a deaf, dumb, and blind boy who hasremarkablymastered the art of pinball. An inspiring tale, and almost believable...until Pete Townshend claims this kid can play a perfect pinball game by sense of smell. The lyric ties in seamlessly, so it's easy to see why the line is included. But for the nitpicking purposes of this article, we have to ask: How does one play pinball by sense of smell? Every pinball machine we've ever played has smelled like body odour, cigarettes and quarters.
