10 Positive Songs We Could All Use Right Now

4. Under Pressure - Queen and David Bowie

Whenever you need some positive vibes, you can rarely go wrong with Queen. The band's repertoire has always consisted of lavish sonic productions that have left the listener feeling elated by the song's end. Once they teamed with David Bowie for a tune, they ended up creating one of the most joyous rock songs in existence.

It almost feels strange to say that considering most of "Under Pressure" is actually pretty dark, as it talks about the apprehension that afflicts every member of society. Regardless of where it comes from, this kind of pressure they have in mind has the power to tear relationships apart and leave people out on the street. Given the dark nature of these verses, how the hell is this song such a pick-me-up?

Even as the instrumentation keeps getting more peppy, Freddie Mercury's voice cut through the mix to assure us that no matter what pain may come our way, we can always give ourselves another chance. Through the power of love, we can not only transcend all our earthly qualms, but even transcend life itself. There's a lot of pressure going around right now, and by following Mercury's lead, we can still find love in the darkness.
