It's interesting to note the difference in choices between hardcore Green Day fans and casual listeners. Non-fans will often plump for Good Riddance or Jesus of Suburbia, songs renowned for their originality - not falling exactly into the 'typical Green Day' sound. Devoted fans seem far more likely to choose a song which typifies this sound, a track which sums up what Green Day means to them.
