10 Problems You'll Only Understand If You Date A DJ
7. Lots Of Time Spent Lingering In The DJ Booth
When you date a DJ, your new home becomes the DJ booth without you even realising. While it's fun being high up above everyone else in the club, and obviously getting to spend a little time with him throughout his set, the novelty soon wears off. The DJ booth is tiny. It is dusty and not as glamorous as you originally thought. It is a small space with one chair, coats thrown on the floor, with walls which drunk people love throwing themselves against while they're dancing. It's crowded when there's other people in there with you, and it's loud because the club speakers are right beside you. There are empty sticky glasses on the side, and rubbish on the floor under the DJ deck. It is as far away from a clean office working space as you can imagine, and you're sick of standing up there for four hours at a time watching everyone else have fun while you try to stay enthusiastic for yet another remix of Born Slippy.
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
