10 Rappers That Have Never Made A Bad Album
8. Childish Gambino
Donald Glover has had one of the most interesting career trajectories of any entertainer going today. Getting his start initially on YouTube, he has turned into a renaissance man of all media, going from Community to Atlanta to even Disney movies like Solo and The Lion King. While everyone knows about Glover's acting chops, Childish Gambino deserves to be on the same level of cultural impact.
With the release of Camp back in 2011, Gambino proved himself to be a decent up and comer with some real charisma behind the mic. Even when the more conceptual piece Because the Internet became a bit of a mixed bag, songs like "3005" still had people rooting for Glover whenever he came out with a new project. Though Awaken My Love almost departed from rap altogether, the smooth sounds of funk and '70s style R&B were too delectable for any average music fan to pass up.
Though he has primarily focused on his acting career as of late, one-offs like "This is America" and this year's self-titled album have shown Glover playing with a broader range of musical textures than most of his peers. Even if Glover has expressed a desire to retire from music as of late, it's been one hell of a ride regardless.
