10 Rappers That Have Never Made A Bad Album

7. Notorious BIG

Anyone who was in the know in the '90s knew about the venomous nature between the East Coast and West Coast rap scenes. Though a lot of the disagreements seem petty nowadays, that anger ended up being the fuel for some of the greatest music of the entire genre. Though the West Coast may have been more prolific with Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, Biggie Smalls had enough chops for 3 wordsmiths combined.

Rather than being a straight-ahead lyricist, there was always a certain cadence in Biggie's lines that made you want to groove every time he came up on a playlist. With the release of Ready to Die, fans got a peek at the rough and tumble streets of New York City, where the notorious lifestyle was feared, revered and celebrated all at the same time. With tracks like "Big Poppa" and "Unbelievable," it seemed like Biggie held the hip-hop world in the palm of his hand.

But, in an instant, it was gone, with Smalls being gunned down during a trip out West. Though Life After Death eventually was released posthumously, songs like "Going Back to Cali" and "Mo Money Mo Problems" were scratching the surface of the endless well of talent Biggie had at the best of times. No proper studio albums have come out since, but the various posthumous releases of Biggie's verses are proof that he was right on the cusp of something groundbreaking.
