When Foo Fighters announced their hiatus back in 2012, you'd have thought Grohl would take some time out and rest up but no, he decided to start up a whole other new project instead. Sound City, the legendary recording studio in Los Angeles that was home to classic albums such as 'Rumours' and 'Nevermind' closed in 2011, so naturally Dave took it upon himself to create a whole movie on its history. Not only did he produce and direct the film, he also collaborated with numerous musicians including Paul McCartney and Trent Reznor to create an album before touring the US and UK with his all-star band the Sound City Players. Pretty impressive eh?
