5. His South By South West (SXSW) Keynote Was Amazing
In 2013, Dave was finally asked to deliver the keynote speech at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Being chosen to follow in the footsteps of such legendary previous speakers including Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young, it's clear that he's now undoubtedly reached their level in the music hierarchy. If his selection wasn't enough to confirm that, then his inspirational speech sure did the trick. Recounting his early days of struggle in the music industry, Dave moved on to discuss his success with Nirvana and Foo Fighters and made a passionate plea for young musicians to follow their own path and find their own individual voice. Here's hoping he did enough to inspire the next generation of musical talent. He couldn't have done any better if he tried.
