10 Reasons There Won't Ever Be Another Prince
5. Prince Wrote An Entire Batman Soundtrack, And It Was Glorious
Quick, name your favorite scene from the original Tim Burton Batman film. Does it involve Jack Nicholson as The Joker riding in on a parade float? Because that's the only right answer here.
But why was that scene so fantastic? Because of Prince's delightful "Trust" playing in the background. (Okay, and partially because of the crazy friggin' dancing that Nicholson does. But mostly it's the song.)
When Prince was approached to contribute a couple of songs for the movie - possibly just giving them "1999" and "Baby I'm A Star" - he instead went ahead and wrote an entire album's worth of music, incorporating themes from the film into each song.
Because when Prince did something, regardless of how silly or insignificant it may have seemed at the time, he didn't mess around. That's something he never got as much credit for as he should have.
