10 Reasons Why My Chemical Romance Desperately Need To Reform

4. Their Music Hadn't Gone Stale

There's a lot to be said about bands and musicians continuing to grow and change. After the phenomenal success of the My Chemical Romance's 2006 album The Black parade, it would have been difficult to blame the band for chasing the same old formula, honing in on a familiar visual and auditory aesthetic, attempting to ride the waves of critical praise. That the band shifted so radically in direction during their follow-up record Danger Days is to be applauded. Gone were the morbid blacks and greys, replaced with blinding sunlight and dazzling colour, upbeat songs that focused on dystopian apocalypse, not hellish damnation. You've only to compare titles such as House Of Wolves and I Don't Love You to Na Na Na and Planetary (GO!) to witness this shift. That's not to mention Gerard's bright red hair which replaced his subdued peroxide cut from before. There was every reason to believe, then, that the band's next album would have been equally as inventive and unique. Though there was talk of returning to darkness, it's likely the band would have managed to put a complete different spin on it. Sigh... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvfNmXbVHi4
