3. Aeromantic - The Night Flight Orchestra

Many would point to the '80s and mid-to-late '70s as rock’s golden era. After all, this period is when the genre’s most iconic names had their heyday. As a band, the Night Flight Orchestra is one of modern rock’s greatest tributes to the legends that put rock 'n' roll on the map. However, they are so much more than a mere nostalgia act. And Aeromantic was another example of the musical wizardly these Swedes are capable of.

Dripping with groovy guitar work and extra sweet synths, the album will teleport fans of the old days back where they want to be, as well as introduce new fans to the incredible music from that era. “Curves” kicks us off with a quintessential old school rock track, the guitars and synths combining perfectly with the sexual undertones of the lyrics.

“Divinyls” plays into the same formula, and it does so to exquisite effect. Once again, it’s a throwback to the kind of classic rock you would expect from an '80s Whitesnake album. The guitars and keyboards produce the kind of melody that could draw anyone in, while the chorus is the kind everyone can sing their heart out to. The album also finishes on a solid note with “Dead of Winter”. The opening synth leads into an incredibly catchy groove, with Bjorn’s vocals providing the exclamation point.
