9. 70,000 Tons of Metal
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiHOG68RjiA People demand more from their holidays. Come summer a lot of young music fans are gearing up to head off to festivals around the world and catch a selection of their favorite acts. The artists like the festivals too because it's a chance to play a smaller set to a larger audience and maybe sell some records as a result. But traditional values often die hard and there's still that burning desire to want a more traditional holiday and not spend everything on one weekend camping in a field. Well now you can have your cake and eat it. 70,000 Tons of Metal is a festival with a difference because its location is constantly changing and can never be defined by land, as it take place aboard the MS Majesty of the Seas. The heavy metal festival first started in 2011 and departed from Miami, Florida, giving passengers the chance to enjoy both a traditional cruise and a selection of live music from the comfort of the aft deck. Normal cruise service sees several interesting ports of call, all the food you can eat on buffet and even a chance to get some poolside tan, but provides live music from 10am until 4am over several days. I imagine the best thing about this festival is the chance you might bump into one of your favorite musicians queuing for the breakfast, after all, where else are they likely to go? As well as being 70,000 tons of metal there's also tons of cash required in order to enjoy this experience - not that we're complaining about the rooms because they're literally outstanding - but the cheapest rooms cost just under $1000 while you should expect to add an additional $319 per person for taxes, pre-paid gratuities, port charges, booking, and ticketing. Bon voyage!
