10 Rock Albums That Artists Regret Making
1. Let It Be - The Beatles
No artist wants to put out something that they aren't proud of. If you're willing to put actual time and effort into your craft, you always want to try and put every piece of your soul into everything your audience hears. Even though you might fall short sometimes, Let It Be by the Beatles stands as the one record that didn't even want to get made.
After the White Album left the Fab Four at odds with each other, Paul McCartney's idea for a return to roots record turned into a disaster, with no one really on the same page for a majority of the sessions. With George Harrison nearly quitting the band in protest, the group reassembled at Abbey Road Studios to make one last record, which turned into Abbey Road just a few months earlier.
They still owed their record company one more record though, which led to Let It Be getting released bare, with Phil Spector coming in to sweeten up some of the mixes. While the Fabs were already feuding before, this was where it got really nasty, with John Lennon praising the mixes and McCartney sending off a letter to the staff of Abbey Road Studios to never tamper with his songs without his permission ever again. For a band that was all about peace and love, this is what happens when the business side of the industry brings out the worst in the artist.
