10 Rock Albums That Artists Regret Making

9. Neighborhoods - Blink-182

There were probably a lot of pop punk fanboys that almost had a heart attack when Blink-182 finally announced their reunion. Since the first iteration of Blink fell out pretty badly after their self-titled album and the massive plane crash Travis Barker was involved in, it felt like the era of All the Small Things was dead in the water. Though things seemed to be looking up on Neighborhoods, this is the album we all like to pretend doesn't exist.

For as much as Blink would have liked to have gotten their act together for a new record, it's clear that there are some conflicts of interest based on the first few tracks alone. While songs like Up All Night and Heart's All Gone have some of that snotty punk rock spirit that we've always known Blink for, Tom DeLonge's attention to detail ends up steering them more towards Angels and Airwaves than pure punk.

It didn't even sound like the actual recording sessions were all that fun either, as both parties talked about recording in completely different locations, leaving most of the songs not so much being written as much as they were assembled. Neighborhoods might stand out as one of the more unique directions of Blink's career, but a punk album without any real heart and soul isn't going to reach classic status any time soon.
