10 Rock Bands People Love To Hate
8. Bullet For My Valentine
As the only Welsh band to feature on this list, Bullet For My Valentine have been an active band for a deceptively long time. Originally forming in 1998 under the name Jeff Killed John, they changed their name to the now internationally recognised BFMV in 2003 after signing their first record deal. Bullet became an instant name in the British metal scene thanks to their debut album, ‘The Poison’, which featured the 2000’s metal classic, ‘Tears Don’t Fall’.
Bullet For My Valentine’s consistent rise to fame continued until their fourth studio album, ‘Temper Temper’, which was released in 2013. The album was critically panned and has since been referred to as one of the worst major metal releases ever by a number of top metal publishings. Distaste towards this album has lingered on in the hearts of some metal fans, who continue to avoid the band entirely on the grounds of ‘Temper Temper’ being so bad.
Thankfully, BFMV bounced back from the calamity of ‘Temper Temper’ with ‘Venom’ in 2015, which to this day easily ranks as one of their best albums. Bullet arguably remain the biggest name in the modern British metal with nearly 8 million Facebook followers and three top 10 albums in the UK charts. BFMV now have seven full length albums to their name, with the latest being their self-titled record from 2021.
