10 Rock Bands That Were Successful After Major Lineup Changes

1. AC/DC

AC/DC is one of the biggest bands to ever strum a musical note. Formed in 1973 in Australia by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, the group has left an indelible legacy on the world of hard rock. The unique sound of lead vocalist Bon Scott was at the forefront of the band's first 5 international releases. The Scott-led AC/DC albums have sold over 44 million copies. His trademark voice can be heard on such iconic singles as T.N.T., Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Highway To Hell. His untimely death in 1980 during the early stages of work on the album that would ultimately become Back In Black could have led to the death of the band as well. But at the urging of Scott's parents, the band chose Brian Johnson as their new singer and resumed working on Back In Black. The album became AC/DC's biggest seller, producing the hits You Shook Me All Night Long, Hell's Bells and the titular anthem. The band continued on an incredible string of successful albums and touring. They did experience a decline in popularity during the late 80s, but 1990's The Razor's Edge saw a regain to commercial and critical form. They've barely stopped to take a breath in the years since, remaining one of the most successful touring bands in the world and continuing to release hit records, most recently Black Ice and Live At River Plate. AC/DC show no signs of slowing down and keep rocking harder than ever. Bon Scott would be proud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEPmA3USJdI
