10 Rock Bands That Were Successful After Major Lineup Changes
2. The Rolling Stones
There isn't much that can be said about The Rolling Stones that hasn't already been said infinite times before. They're arguably the biggest band of all-time. Sales exceeding 250 million copies, 29 studio and 18 live albums and too many hit singles to name. Their resume speaks for itself. It's remarkable to think that the band has remained so beloved with fans despite some significant changes in membership over the years. Founding member Brian Jones drowned in a swimming pool shortly after leaving the band in 1969. His death at age 27 made him one of the first members or music's morbid 27 Club. Other members include Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain. Jones was replaced by Mick Taylor up until 1975 when Ron Wood joined the band and has remained to this day. While Wood's contributions to the band are numerous, Taylor is often regarded as the best guitarist to ever play with the Stones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRXGsPBUV5g
