10 Rock Bands That Had More Than One Lead Singer
9. The Eagles
The entire rock universe has a bit of a love-hate relationship when it comes to The Eagles. Though their songs have been lauded as some of the greatest stand-alone singles in the rock canon, the loveable wacky persona of Joe Walsh has been upended by the snobbishness of someone like Don Henley far too many times to count. Despite the miles of baggage you have to go through to enjoy this band, their vocal game was always on another level.
For any normal rock band, Henley's croon would pretty much be all you need, which possessed the vocal grit and smoothness to sing both R&B and hard rock tunes in equal measure. Henley did share though, with Glenn Frey's easy-breezy vocals adding a bit of a folksy vibe to acoustic tunes like Lyin' Eyes. Those two songwriters could be more than any band could ask for, but these California rockers were almost spoiled by good singers, with both Randy Meisner and Timothy B. Schmit having just the right high voice to soar above the frontmen when singing harmony.
While Joe Walsh doesn't possess nearly the same amount of vocal power in his delivery, the goofball character he brings across in his performance gives him one notch above your average joker who tries to play rockstar for a day. The Dude might like to think otherwise, but when it comes to the raw execution of fantastic singing, you can't really do much better than these guys.
