10 Rock Bands That Kept The Same Lineup

7. Tool

Of all the articles that people have made on Tool over the years, you probably won't find the word prolific anywhere near this band. Suffice to say, the band certainly know how to take their time in between albums, with Fear Inoculum spending nearly two decades in incubation before eventually being unleashed on the world. Still, it's a miracle that we got this band in the first place than actually marveling at their output.

As far as the core lineup is concerned, the band that we know from Undertow to present day has remained firmly intact for the most part. Although Paul D'amour was halfway out the door by the time Undertow actually rolled around, the initial incarnation of the band had an integral piece missing until Danny Carey stepped up. Initially taking pity on the band for not having a decent drummer in tow, Carey's intense rhythmic accents set against Justin Chancellor's meaty bass grooves was a match made in metal heaven (or hell in this case) across songs like Parabola and The Pot.

And there's not much more that even needs to be said about Maynard James Keenan or Adam Jones, each of whom bring their own twisted weirdness through being one of the greatest metal vocalists of all time and metal's most artistic riff crafter respectively. Even though Tool's music has gone down some interesting roads throughout their career, this might be the one band to talk about when aliens want music samples from Earth.
