10 Rock Bands That Made Metal Songs
2. Nobody's Fault - Aerosmith
For most metal fans, Led Zeppelin is the precursor to everything. Since the blues already had its place, this was the moment where things started to get a lot more heavy, with acts like Black Sabbath taking the darker side of what Page and Plant did and creating this unholy sound of metal music. While Aerosmith found themselves on the more bluesy end of the spectrum most of the time, they definitely settled into their heavy boots once they reached the big time.
After coming out with Toys in the Attic, Rocks was the first time where the band really started to stretch out, taking songs that had a lot more grit to them and almost making a more badass version of the Rolling Stones. In between the more groovy material like Last Child though, Nobody's Fault was the real turning point for the band, taking the topic of earthquakes and matching it with a backing track that makes it feel like the ground is shaking beneath your feet.
Though most of the guitar praise goes to Joe Perry, Brad Whitford is the one really leading the charge, coming up with the main riff at the start, almost sounding like a more bombastic version of what Led Zeppelin was trying to do on Immigrant Song. Aerosmith were always proud to show off their rock and roll roots, but if they wanted to take it that one step further, the Bad Boys From Boston would be out for blood.
