10 Rock Bands That Released 2 Masterpiece Albums In A Row

2. Radiohead

One of the biggest tropes that comes with making a masterpiece album is fans wanting you to do it all over again. As much as you might want to stretch the boundaries of what you can do, there are always those higher ups at the label that might be pushing the bottom line. Since Radiohead already had gone through their grunge phase back on Pablo Honey, they knew that they could go wherever they wanted after OK Computer.

Coming right as the '90s were starting to wrap up, OKC was Radiohead's major breakthrough into rock and roll, going from potential one hit wonders to having the entire world of rock in the palm of their hand. Along with songs that warned about the dangers of machinery, the band seemed to be the '90s answer to U2, looking to usher us into the next generation of rock and roll. Just like U2 though, the band didn't have much interest in repeating their perfection either.

Starting off the '00s with a bang, Kid A remains one of the boldest lines in the sand in any band's discography, with Radiohead going almost beyond rock altogether to create an album that was a lot more electronic and oddly clinical than what had come before. As time has gone on though, both of these albums stand as true examples of where your inspiration can take you. Even if you have some digital effects in your song, it won't matter unless you have something human in there as well.
