10 Rock Bands Who Broke World Records

1. Weezer - Most Internet Memes In A Music Video

Yep, this is a real record.

From their generally nerdy demeanour to their recent cover of Toto's Africa featuring "Weird Al" Yankovic, Weezer have always done a lot to endear themselves to the dorkier side of modern culture. In 2008, the band confirmed their status as geek poster boys with the release of the video for their song, Pork and Beans.

The video had absolutely nothing to do with the song's themes of celebrating one's self-image, but rather featured a collection of YouTube celebrities doing what they did best. These included the Afro Ninja, the "Numa Numa" man, the "Leave Britney Alone" girl, and Will It Blend? to name but a few.

This celebration of early internet culture landed the band one of the least-likely Guinness World Records of all time, when they were handed the "Most Internet Memes in a Music Video" award for the 55 different online personalities present in the promo clip.

If you weren't online in the late naughties, chances are you won't have a clue who most of the people in Pork and Beans are. But, for those who were there, this is a time capsule of the greatest time in their lives.
