10 Rock Bands Who Broke World Records

7. Thirty Seconds To Mars - Longest Concert Tour By A Rock Band

As well as butchering Italian accents and freaking people out on the set of Suicide Squad, Jared Leto's other major pastime is making music with his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars.

The group was formed in 1998 and today consists of Jared and his brother Shannon, alongside a rotating cast of other musicians. They've released six studio albums, sold 15 million records worldwide, and, between 2010 and 2011, they embarked on the tour to end all tours.

Leto announced his intention to break the world record held for "Longest Concert Tour by a Rock Band" with a mammoth 300 dates planned for the group's Into the Wild Tour. In the end, they finished on a total of 309 shows in a single tour, culminating with two nights at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in New York City in December 2011.

Into the Wild took Thirty Seconds to Mars to everywhere from the UK to South Africa, Oman to Puerto Rico, as they spent the better part of two years on the road.

Say what you will about Leto, but you've got to admire that level of stamina.
