10 Rock & Metal Bands That Still Have All Their Original Members
3. Aerosmith
The almighty test for any rock band that's trying to go the distance is time. As much as you might think that you're a band of brothers, there's always go to be those times that test your endurance and make you question whether you're actually the band that you thought you were when you started out.
While Aerosmith originally had one of the rockiest relationships in the genre, they have always come back to the same 5 guys every time.
That's not to say that things have been all sunshine and roses for the past 50 years though. During a brief stint in the early '80s, the tensions got so heated that both Joe Perry and Brad Whitford opted to step out, leaving Aerosmith a shell of what they once were. With neither party doing well solo or otherwise though, it became abundantly clear that the magic comes down to everyone playing together.
Even in some of the more questionable decisions of their career like Just Push Play, you can still hear the synergy at work, as the Toxic Twins trade melodies back and forth as if it's being beamed down by the gods of rock.
To put it bluntly, any band might know how to rock, but Aerosmith are one of the elite few that know that the "roll" part of the equation is just as important.
