10 Rock & Metal Bands That Still Have All Their Original Members
2. Radiohead
Every so often you have a band that doesn't really seem to fit with the genre they're a part of. Whether it's a blues act that somehow gains traction or a jazzy player that happens to be in the rock genre, there's always that X factor that distinguishes them from the more trendy artists of their time. In Radiohead's case though, it might not be off the table to say that these guys are from another planet entirely.
Across every one of their albums, the band has slowly morphed into one of the most unpredictable acts in music, going from experimental rock on Kid A to incorporating everything from orchestras to jazz on A Moon Shaped Pool. Although Thom Yorke gets most of the praise for his brilliant songwriting, the lowlights of the group are where the real depth comes in.
Along with Jonny Greenwood's amazing classical arrangements, Ed O'Brien always keeps things rooted in the rock genre, making sounds with his guitar that sound like they're being beamed in from space.
Also, when you look at a song like Paranoid Android, the rhythm section is what keeps things breathing, with Phil Selway's chaotic drum breaks and Colin Greenwood's slithering bass line propelling the groove forward at every turn.
While they'll probably always be known as indie darlings, keeping a lineup this stable after all these years shows how much dedication they have to their craft.
