10 Rock Music Bands With Two Incredible Guitarists

1. Thin Lizzy

Thin Lizzy set the standard when it came to twin lead guitars in rock music; a standard every single band that has followed them has tried desperately to uphold.

Formed in Ireland in 1969, the band finally put all the pieces together in 1974, when guitarists Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson arrived on the scene.

Starting with the album Fighting, Gorham and Robertson developed a crisp, clear, coordinated sound that was nothing like anything else anyone had heard before. They took the harmonies of bands like Wishbone Ash and The Yardbirds and transferred to a hard rock setting. With that, musical history was made.

The album Jailbreak followed in 1976, which produced the classic The Boys Are Back in Town. Unfortunately, this golden period would end all too soon, as Robertson was gone from the band by 1978.

Although it was brief, Gorham and Robertson's partnership influenced so many future legends and their music still sounds as good today as it would have done in a smoky '70s bar.
