10 Rock Music Bands With Two Incredible Guitarists

8. Guns N’ Roses

How must it feel to be the "other" guitarist in a band with one of the greatest and most famous of all time? Ask Izzy Stradlin, who played rhythm guitar to Slash's lead in Guns N' Roses for six years.

Stradlin, real name Jeffrey Isbell, was in the band during their golden period. He played on pretty much all of the group's most famous tracks, steadily chugging along whilst the man in the top hat took all the glory.

Slash, real name Saul Hudson, is quite simply one of the all-time greats. His riff work and spectacular solos helped take GNR right to the very top, and his subsequent solo career proved that he was more than capable of making strides on his own.

But spare a thought for Stradlin, who was the reliable hand on the tiller whilst Slash was out there doing his thing.

Listen to any GNR solo and you'll hear Izzy expertly keeping time in the background. Rhythm guitarists don't always get the love they deserve, but they are an essential part of the rock music machine.
