10 Rock Music Bands With Two Incredible Guitarists

4. Wishbone Ash

Hailing from Devon in the South of England, Wishbone Ash found major success as part of the '70s blues rock scene that was spearheaded by Led Zeppelin. In fact, they were inspired by Jimmy Page's work with Jeff Beck in The Yardbirds, who could also have easily been on this list.

The band were well received by their home country, with their 1972 album Argus reaching number three in the UK charts. Part of their appeal came from the acclaimed lead guitar duo of Andy Powell and Ted Turner.

No, not that Ted Turner. The only thing he played was various business rivals off against each other.

Powell and Turner's synchronicity served as the backbone of many of Wishbone Ash's best tracks. They were able to create multi-layered melodies and soaring harmonies with the greatest of ease, fusing prog rock and blues with classical sensibilities.

Turner actually left the band in 1974, which coincided with a significant drop-off in public interest in the group. Bless Andy Powell though, who's been plucking away with Wishbone Ash since they started.
