10 Rock Music Bands With Two Incredible Guitarists
5. Foo Fighters
Much like Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters are also a very silly band who currently have three guitarists on their payroll.
The story behind Pat Smear joining the band is quite sweet, so maybe they can get away with it. He was a touring guitarist for Nirvana who helped Dave Grohl record the first two Foos albums. After years playing as a session musician and on tour, Smear was finally made an official member in 2010.
As nice as that is, the main guitar duo in the Foos has usually been Chris Shiflett and Mr. Grohl himself.
Shiflett joined the band in 1999 and has appeared on eight records with the band. As for Grohl, well, if you don't know his story by now, then where have you been?
Both men are highly capable players, often switching between lead and rhythm to great effect. The Foos' music has grown more intricate over the years, thanks to the solid relationship formed between Grohl and Shiflett.
