Were it not for the fact that John Lennon still gets the real credit for being the "frontman" of The Beatles, Paul McCartney would no doubt be higher on this list.

Still, it would be a crime to leave him off of it. The Beatles were, after all, the biggest band in history, and bassist McCartney did share the spotlight (and vocal duties) with Lennon.

Then, after The Beatles did the unthinkable and broke up, he went on to form Wings (better known as Paul McCartney and Wings) with his then wife Linda and Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine.

While the band's initial output was critically disappointing - at least when compared to The Beatles - the group would go on to create hits with Live and Let Die, and Band on the Run, proving that Paul was a creative force to be reckoned with - and a successful frontman in his own right.
