10 Rock Songs Ripped Off From Other Songs

1. Cigarettes and Alcohol - Oasis

Most of you watching probably thought that Oasis was going to be on here somewhere. I mean, the Gallagher Brothers have practically made a career out of taking ideas from the Beatles, so why the hell wouldn't they be taken to task for their plagiarisms? There is definitely a case to be made for Noel Gallagher wearing his influences a little too much...just not for the Fab Four though.

Outside of the John Lennon-esque whine of Liam Gallagher, the opening guitar lick of Cigarettes and Alcohol is pretty much lifted verbatim from the T. Rex classic Get It On. So in between playing Revolver over and over again in between writing sessions, Noel clearly had some glam rock in mind when talking about the excesses of being a rock and roll star.

Before they had even recorded, rhythm guitarist Bonehead was already hesitant to even go forward with the song, thinking that the similarities were too close. Noel was aware of it though, and could have cared less whether people would point out the differences or not. Because whether you think it's stealing or not, it does end up getting the people talking at the end of the day. This is far from original by Noel's standards, but if it's a tribute, it's certainly made with love.
