10 Rock Songs With Weird Instruments

8. Go Let It Out - Oasis

If you were even a casual fan of Oasis, there was no denying that the band were massive Beatles fans. From the way they dressed to the sound of their records, all of the songs written by Noel Gallagher seemed to to evoke the image of the Fab Four from Liverpool.

However, it wasn't until after their 90's heyday that the band came closest to their heroes' sound on "Go Let It Out." Coming from their 2001 album Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, this track is truly brought to life by the exquisite use of the Mellotron. Originally designed as a primitive synthesizer, the sound of the Mellotron was what Lennon and McCartney used to bring classics like "Strawberry Fields Forever" to life. Armed with the new sound, Oasis created a different sonic presence as the song floats in the air thanks to the synthetic flourishes.

Given how determined the band was to play straightforward rock and roll forever, the band still knew how to shake up their sound whenever inspiration struck. "Go Let It Out" may not be the first track that comes to mind when you think of Oasis, but its unique sounds make it one of the most underrated tracks in the band's catalog.
