There's a good chance that Motley Crue were more of a danger to themselves every time they took to the road. Even though all of their antics off the stage have been well documented in books like the Dirt, there was no way to hide the kind of elicit behavior that they got into either, with their manager not booking certain tours because he was convinced that one of them would die before they made it back home. Once Nikki Sixx was left with nothing to do though, it was also a good time to play with his mortality by himself.

Just a few weeks before they were supposed to be going out on the road, Nikki was becoming a heroin junkie and had someone help him score and actually let them put the needle into his veins. In just a few seconds, Nikki turned blue and his heart stopped beating, with the paramedics being unable to revive him once they turned up on the scene. There was one more shot though, and Nikki was brought back to life Pulp Fiction style, with two adrenaline needles put into his chest and coming back.

Nikki even described the scene later as a surreal experience, seeing his body in the back of the ambulance and feeling a sensation of coming down fast when he was actually revived. The Crue would carry on with their hard partying ways for a few more years after this, but this is probably the first time Nikki realized what was going to happen if he lived like this forever.
