10 Rockers Who Yelled At Their Fans Onstage
3. Kurt Cobain Calling Out Abuser
As Nirvana started to dominate the rock landscape in the early '90s, Kurt Cobain was still the same kid from Aberdeen that he had always been. Although more people knew his name and were calling him the voice of this generation of rock, he still had firms beliefs that no amount of rock star royalties were going to get in the way of. And right at the top of that list was the protection of women, especially at his own gigs.
Already getting a little wary of jocks showing up to Nirvana gigs, Cobain was getting more and more unhappy with the chaos that could sometimes go down during their stadium era, in particular during the slower moments of the show. In the middle of their cover of Jesus Doesn't Want Me For a Sunbeam, Cobain shifts his attention to a woman in the crowd getting sexually assaulted, after which he throws down his guitar and goes over to yell at the fan and pushing him away.
After notifying security, Cobain gets back on the mic to tear the guy to shreds for what he did, with Krist Novoselic even getting in on some of the action by pointing and laughing at him as he's getting taken out. As much as Nirvana's music had personal pain beneath the lyrics, you can never say that they didn't have respect for the people who came to see them.
