10 Rockstars That Hate You For Liking Their Music

8. Roger Waters - Pink Floyd

Over rock history, Pink Floyd has developed a reputation as being one of the most faceless rock bands of them all. Despite having some of the most captivating artwork in the history of music, there's probably only a couple of fairweather fans of the group who know what the guys actually look like. Then again, Roger Waters may want to keep up that facade for as long as he can.

Ever since their formation, Waters was never really meant to be the creative mind behind Floyd, instead putting that in the hands of Syd Barrett. However, once Barrett had to be let go from the band after losing his sanity, Waters' step up to the plate became more of a dissection of the rock star lifestyle than an actual frontman role. Across albums like The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here, you can tell that Waters' relationship with his fans is much more at arms length, not really wanting to take on the mantle of the rock god like so many who have come before him.

Nowhere is this more apparent than on the Wall, where Waters writes an entire rock opera following Pink as a mock version of himself, trying to make sense of his life while living the lifestyle of a rock star. So when you look back on Waters' career, it seems to come from a place of reluctance rather than actual gratitude.
