10 Scariest Videos In Rock Music History

9. Time To Dance - The Shoes (2015)

The video for Time to Dance by electro-rock duo The Shoes is less 'jump out of your seat' scary and more 'what the hell did I just watch?'

The two-minute introduction is actually set to another track, and is one of the more shocking openings to a music video you're likely to witness.

Apparently, playing the third wheel didn't suit Jake Gyllenhaal's character in this video. Whilst attending a party, his character suddenly appears in a fencing costume to brutally murder a couple of fun-loving hipsters. All set to an intensive break beat track, your senses are left in a battered state of confusion before the video has barely begun to take off..

But, before the shock of what you've witnessed is able to dissipate, the more upbeat electro-rock beat kicks in, luring you into a false sense of jovial secretary.

However, the pangs of witnessing those initial murders soon come creeping back. The next six minutes show Gyllenhaal attending to day-to-day activities - eating, working out and going to parties - contrasted with quick-fire imagery of him making mince meat of the young socialites of the city.

It's a brutal use of the juxtaposition. What you're hearing doesn't jive with what you're witnessing on screen, resulting in a disturbing experience that somehow you can't take your eyes off.
