10 Scariest Videos In Rock Music History

2. Left Behind – SlipKnot (2001)

Slipknot set the bar high with their music video for Wait and Bleed back in 1999. The creepy stop-motion film depicting miniature versions of the band tormenting some guy in a basement felt like an animated version of one of the Saw movies. However, they would go further still, creating some of rock's most visually-disturbing videos.

With Duality, Psychosocial and The Devil In I all deserving honourable mentions, the 2001 music video for Left Behind takes the price. Not only did it feature some of the band's most recognisable and disturbing masks, it also featured their signature red jumps suits, which screamed with all kinds of connotations.

The video intercut between the band frantically performing in a sinister forest and clips of a lone child chopping meat, wandering around a run down house and eating bowls of filthy cereal.

As the video progressed, the energy of the band became psychotic with Shawn 'Clown' Crahan tearing at his flesh to expose and pick at his brains.

With all the other imagery of rotting flesh, filthy water and themes of isolation, it was classic Slipknot... and it was damn scary.
