10 Songs By The 1975 You've Been Sleeping On
2. Milk
Another forgotten gem from the 'IV' EP, Milk was actually a hidden track on the American release of the EP and could have completely bypassed audiences had it not been released as a standalone single in 2017 as the band continued to develop their sound for the forthcoming 'A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships'.
Above all else, Milk acted as a potent reminder that The 1975 are much more than just 'Robotic Huey Lewis Tunes' by revisiting the band's most traditional Britpop sound. Stripped of virtually all the synth and nuanced background noise; Milk is an indie anthem just waiting for the appropriate recognition.
Anyone who has ever been to a nightclub offering an 'indie' night will no doubt have become fatigued with 'Song 2' followed by 'Step On' and other such overplayed tracks - next time, ask the DJ if he's got Milk kicking around and thank me later.
