10 Songs We All Know The Words To (But Wish We Didn't)

4. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) €“ Beyoncé

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m1EFMoRFvY Released in 2008, this massive hit is still influential today, the premise being that a woman has ended a relationship and €“ now in a club with a friend €“ is letting loose and dancing sexily. However €˜drama€™ strikes when her ex arrives and realises what he€™s lost. Beyoncé addresses the problem by singing the immortal lines that have probably been stuck in your head since you saw the song title above. A certain line about liking something, and securing it with a ring, yes? This is empowering and has become a hugely successful song because of Beyonc這s attitude to her ex, but that doesn€™t stop it being extremely overplayed. With strong lyrics like €œI don€™t care what you think€ and €œI€™m not that kind of girl€ this really is one for the ladies; but a one where the ladies can feel proud of themselves, do what they want without being careless doormats all the time.
