10 Songs Proven To Make You Happy

3. Dancing Queen - ABBA

I'm pretty sure there's a law in place saying that you can't not like at least one ABBA song. For as many hits as they had, the idea of not liking a single song from this pop powerhouse might by evidence that you're legally dead. Tons of ABBA songs have the tendency to sweep you off your feet, but this song actually accomplishes that quite literally.

From the very start of "Dancing Queen," the opening piano notes just put you in the right mood to kick things off. Once the singing starts though, the song ascends to another level, almost as if the vocals are being processed through the purest filter imaginable. The actual tempo and volume doesn't really change in the chorus, but the mood feels like it's being brought up regardless.

At the same time, the song makes the most out of just the simplest expression of dancing. The decision to dance is not something that has to be taken all that seriously, but with the way Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad sell that hook line, it feels like one of the most awe-inspiring feats in human existence. There's probably a dozen of moms who danced to this tune at the last wedding you went to, but when you can get even the most jaded in-laws grooving, you know you're doing something right.
