10 Songs That Are Huge Outliers On Rock Albums

9. Teenagers - The Black Parade (My Chemical Romance)

When emo heartthrobs My Chemical Romance ruled the world, it was a simpler time.

Your hair was black, your eyeliner was thick, and your room was untidied and that's the way you liked it.

Oh, to be back there...

Gerard Way and his troupe of unhappy-looking chums reached their zenith with the release of their third studio album The Black Parade in 2006. With tracks like Famous Last Words, I Don't Love You, and Welcome to the Black Parade, the band established themselves as juggernauts of the genre and solidified their legacy as one of the noughties' greatest bands.

The album is a rock opera, telling the story of a dying man as he transitions from the world of the living to the space beyond. So why is there a song about how much Gerard Way hates teenagers on there?

Teenagers is a banger, for sure. The chorus is the ultimate sing-a-long and it is a firm favourite amongst the MCR faithful. But does it really belong on an album like this? Does it fit the story?

Not really, but hey, when a track is as iconic as this, nobody really minds.
