10 Songs That Tricked You Into Thinking They're Happy

Music is a crazy thing. It can make you feel happy, forget all your troubles and transport you into a momentary place of happiness, and others can recall dark and unhappy memories of times you'd rather forget. Whether there is a melancholic tune or an upbeat tempo, music tends to shape your mood, be it positively or negatively. However, there are some songs that transcend these boundaries and mesh together the unhappy, tragic lyrics with an upbeat and fast-paced catchy tune. We often don't even realise that the songs we are listening to and enjoying - bobbing along to slowly and even sometimes absent mindedly singing the lyrics to - are laced with indications of unhappiness and drama. Musicians do tend to enjoy writing about issues that affect them and/or their loved ones, and issues close to their heart. As such, some of these tracks belie their nature and discuss far more downbeat a story than we expect if you look a little closer.
