9. Walking On The Moon The Police
Another British classic. Some say this song occurred to Sting when he was drunk in a German hotel room, and walking around felt like he was floating like Neil Armstrong. Others claim this particular moonwalk refers to feeling in love, and that this song is in fact about one of Sting's first girlfriends, a bonny lass named Deborah, something Sting has backed up both origins in various interviews. This song showcases the heavy reggae influences that inspired The Police and was a hit, peaking at number one in the UK and also making the charts in Australia in ninth position. It remains to this day one of the band's catchiest tunes.
