To some Journey is the epitome of 1970’s arena rock and all that was right with the world some 40 years ago. To others it is the definition of nostalgic soft rock that your mother would turn up every time it came across the dial on your morning drive to school. But no matter your individual opinion of what Journey is, there is no denying their foothold in modern pop culture.

To an entire generation of '80s kids, their music is synonymous with middle school dances and Senior Prom themes. Then some 20 years later an entirely new generation was introduced to the synth-cheese masterpiece that is Don’t Stop Believing through the Soprano’s and Glee.

But no matter how much staying power Journey has, they still were unable to crack the top spot on the charts, Open Arms was their highest charting effort reaching number 2 in the winter of 1982.
